You can now renew your existing registration online.  You need your copy of insurance, mileage, old registration and a credit or debit card.  There is a small fee for using this service. After you are finished the renewal, you will be able to print a temporary registration.  The state will send you by mail your stickers and registration.  Matinicus still receives all the excise tax paid.  You can still pay in person at the town office.  All new registrations have to be done at the town office.  You can go to Maine State Bureau of Motor Vehicles website and go to online registrations.
