Agenda
Ryan Pelletier to speak about Maine Food Sovereignty Act.
- This item was tabled because Ryan could not attend.
Wharf parking. We are going to need the area cleared for delivery of power
company equipment.
- We have 4 Island Transporter trips lined up. April 29th, April 30th, May 1st, May
12th and May 16th a trip with Gravel. Trucks must beagle to get to the work site
without any obstacles. When fuel tanks are delivered the area must be cleared due
to the hazardous nature of moving the large tanks and getting them in place.
- Cell Phone Repeater:
This would benefit the whole island by providing better overall cell service. It would
also provide the necessary service for our Power Company employees. In the past
we have used pagers to alert them to issues with the power station. Phil will be
checking with a company in Florida JD Tech about installation and cost of this
project.
- Wharf Repairs DOT/Ferry-Eva What can we do to bg this to DOTs attention?
Eva wrote a letter to the MSFS and DOT addressing our concerns. Eva could not
attend the meeting but we will follow up with her for any feedback. We may need to
address the Transportation Board. It is suggested we reach out to Valli Geiger with
our concerns as well.
- Any updates from the Development Committee-Peggy?
1. A project the committee would like to do this summer is to have signs made
to help folks find the beaches and other areas on the island.
2. To pick an old trail to clear every year. This year will be the trail between Shag
Hollow and Condon’s Cove. All property owners have been asked and all
were in favor.
3. The next Community Development meeting will be: May 13th 2025
Should we include the ferry ramp over sight with the Administrator’s position?
The consensus is yes, the admin should oversee this. Still hoping for volunteers.
Craig Macleod has offered to do it. There was a discussion of the weight of the cover
that needs to be lifted in order to operate the lift. Also the disrepair of the parts of
the equipment.
- Old and New Business:
Gabe discussed the waterfront grant and GEI. Can it interface with our float project?
Gabe will follow up with Clayton.
- Executive Session:
